We know that no Jew could accept more than one God. And Jesus was sent to the Jews. If He is not messiah to the Jews, he is not messiah to me either.

One thing that all cults do is work at blurring this line. In Mormonism, for example, one of the first things a new convert reads is the testimony of Joseph Smith. In his testimony, he describes a meeting he had with two "beings" who each had physical bodies. One was Elohim (the Father) and one was Jesus. Well, you know right there that you are dealing with doctrine from hell, but it is packaged in such a slick and beautiful way that if you are gullible, you swallow it right up. Then, they'll show you a slickly produced video where you see the theatrical representation of this meeting in true Hollywood glory (Left Behind anyone?). Most Christians simply do not know the word and they do not have clearly defined beliefs in this area. They are unable to defend their faith from the word and do not know exactly why they believe what they believe. When they fall into the hands of the Mormon missionaries, they are in danger. I would say that if the author of the weigh down diet is so sloppy with her beliefs and knowledge of the word that she talks of two "beings", well then, she appears to be one of those vulnerable ones, at a minimum. To me, the words "two beings" conjure up images of Joseph Smith's "two bodies", and I am bothered by it too. To me, even to be flippant about an issue upon which salvation and eternal life hangs is about as dangerous to do as anything. Salvation hangs upon Romans 10:9-10. Let's look at it!

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto reighteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

Some argue here that it does not say LORD GOD here, so you don't have to believe that Jesus is God, but that is pickiness in the extreme. I put it to you that you must believe that Jesus is the LORD GOD.

Let us say that Jesus is not LORD GOD. Then you are falling down on your knees, with Thomas, and worshipping someone who is not the LORD GOD. Thomas fell down, worshipped and exclaimed, "my LORD and my GOD". To worship anyone other than the one true God is idolatry.

To this, Gwen Shamblin of "Weigh Down Diet" fame, comments that if God tells her to get down on her knees and worship Jesus, she will certainly do it. She is therefore open to worshipping a Jesus who is "The SON of God, and not the LORD GOD." This is dangerous!

What a person believes is what saves him. We must believe that Jesus is the "Lord God". That is crystal clear. I don't want anyone dilluting that or dumbing it down. I'm bothered that anyone would even make a cartoon about it at all. It is life and death serious stuff.

I will close by looking at Revelation. Chapter 1 has Jesus speaking in verse 8. He says that he is "Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the LORD." Jesus is not identified here except to say that it is the LORD who is speaking. In any event, he calls himself "alpha and omega, the beginning and the ending".

Now look at Revelation 22:13-"I am Aspha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last." Now move down three verses to verse 16-"I Jesus have sent mine angel unto you."

We therefore conclusively prove that it is Jesus who is Alpha and Omega, who is speaking in Revelation. Jesus is Lord, first and last, beginning and the end. The LORD GOD.
