TODAY'S WORD

Those of us in America and in the Western European nations tend to think in terms of short term planning, usually of four year terms or less. Our enemies have identified this and employ long term planning to bring about the defeat of our nation. This tactic is one the devil has long employed against individual believers as well. God's people have many times found Him lacking in the extreme short term as they become diverted to idols. They can begin to forget all that God has done for them and adopt a "what have you done for me lately attitude". Thankfulness has departed and danger has arrived. The enemy loves to see this, but he will also be quite satisfied to see you weaken a little bit each day, each year, until a culmination is reached in ten years time.

The enemy of our souls operates through coercion with lies, diverting the believer from a path of real truth onto a side rail of deception. This can leave someone spiritually anemic after a long season, withering like a plant in a hot greenhouse, desperately in need of water. The danger of falling away is very real in a long season of such erosion. Usually, the weaknesses are not revealed until a day of great tumult and stress arrives, resulting in an impending crisis of faith.

A long period of spiritual mal-nutrition can leave you vulnerable to many attacks of the enemy, but more disconcertingly, it can find you wanting in God's eyes. First of all, you may begin to fail the test in that God requires you to be a lover of the truth. Consider 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12

2Th 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 2Th 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 2Th 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 2Th 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Let us say that God examines you and finds that, by your actions, you have ignored His word, leaving you in a withered and anemic state. What if God might then do as He said He would do in verse 11 above: He turns you over to a strong delusion, that you might believe a lie. Do you realize what this is saying? God Himself is warning you that He might just scramble your brain, turning it over to the whim of the evil one. What if God did that? How could you possibly escape out of this situation with your malfunctioning brain?

2 Chronicles 20 is often quoted and cheered about regarding a great triumph of Israel, where Israel believed its' prophets and won a battle through praise. But what about those nations that were defeated in that battle? They never even made it to the fight. God "confused" them and they all killed each other. Might we be watching the early stages of this type of murderous confusion taking hold in the minds of God hating people in America. There may very well be some "Christian confessors" in the midst of this maddened multitude whose minds have been turned over to strong, and might I say, lying delusions. So, in this dangerous hour, we must fight to remain strong in the Lord and to retain control of our minds. We must renew our minds as God told us to regularly do in Romans 12:2. The failure to renew your mind may lead to a loss of transformation: in short, you may revert to thinking just like a carnal, worldy person thinks.

You cannot afford to let the enemy persuade you, compel you, force you, intimidate you, put pressure on you, threaten you or influence you to do what he wants. If you do, then you are in danger of becoming very weak, and perhaps even falling away, if that were possible.

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

This scripture speaks about that which pleases God. It is called FAITH! There is no substitute for it. He is also mentioned in that sense as a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Have I always diligently sought Him? No. There have been times when I have failed to do so. How about you my friend? Are you diligently seeking the King of Kings? Or are you seeking other things. Does this world and the love thereof have the majority of your attention?

Keep your faith high by fertilizing it with the RHEMA WORD: the voice of Jesus Christ through His Holy Spirit. This is how you will bring faith unto maturity. Do an autopsy on your dead works: works you previously thought God had led you into, but now, you see that there has been no fruit or accomplishment as you had hoped. Why was that? What caused this work to crash and burn? Was it really God's baby, or was it yours? We must learn to walk in balance-balance of faith, belief, prayer and worship, along with appropriate and earnest study. All of this must be balanced against those works and callings: the things we are doing that we believe God ordained. The call and need for balance becomes acutely obvious when we run so fast and do so much. We tend to lose our perspective when we rush in on a thing.

Should you find that you have become spiritually anemic, you are headed for a downfall. The enemy will lie to you and do his very best to gently drag you with flaxen cords into everything that is fake. Yes, fake as this present popular media is fake today. Many think it is true and good, but really, it is a collection of lies and distortions. All they can do in their reporting is to give fake news; lie after lie after lie. If you are walking in the light, you will be able to discern what the enemy is attempting to do. He is hell bent on wrecking your faith. But, he will not stop there: continuing on until he drags you down to hell, may God forbid.

Your mind and your thinking will change and your walk will become infected, as with a disease if you follow this unsound course for a long period of time. To prevent this blast from the enemy, gear yourself up by cultivating and fertilizing and keeping your faith fresh and alive. The word of God is that which controls all circumstances, not the other way around. Circumstances must yield to a decree of the word of God. Do you have enough of that word within you? Stop all religious displays of pretended spirituality. Don't look away from this article, telling yourself that you are alright. Take a deep look at yourself, with the TV, computer and radio off. Take off all of the masks and get real with God. Stop being the problem and start being part of the solution. Start seeking Him more.

Faith, once eroded, leads to spiritual deafness and a loss of vision: deaf, dumb and blind with respect to the word of God. You will become like a dumb dog, God forbid. You won't have a bite any more. You will have ears but will not be able to hear; eyes but you won't be able to see; a mouth but you won't be able to speak. Listen for His voice. He will speak. Fuel your faith with trust.

So, in the final analysis, that which we do plainly shows that which we truly believe. Don't just go through the motions. This is not what God wants from you. Hebrews 2 warns us of dire consequences if we neglect so great a salvation. So dire that we are warned that we may not escape if we do not alter our course. The first sixteen verses of Hebrews 11 lay out the perfect examples of true obedience and faith. These examples were of men and women who heard from God and who fulfilled their callings and their destinies. It doesn't matter whether we understand it all, especially when there are hardships to face. We are to diligently and untimately trust God. So let your faith release you to continue following Jesus.

Guard your hearts and minds in this hour. The devil wants to have you, and God is judging a nation that has changed its' God. You do not want to be swept up in that judgement and carried over to join with the side that is lining up to fight against God. Nothing could possibly be more foolish than that. Hold fast to the truth and to sound doctrine and study to show yourself approved. Resist all those in this hour who come with another Jesus, another gospel or another spirit. Yes, the church is flaw filled and maggot infested, but that is not the fault of God. Come out of her, my people, but do not leave the Lord God behind. Hold tightly to the head, which is Christ Jesus, our Lord and God. Hold just as tightly to His word: do not let anyone diminish it in your eyes. You will need all 66 books of His written word and every spoken RHEMA word you can receive to make it through the period of deception that is raging in this hour.
