The wisdom from above is first pure. James 3:17.
In Gal 2:20 the Apostle Paul speaks about crucifying his flesh. If we will make a special effort to daily cut away part of this filthy flesh, we will gradually die to it more and more. I know dying to this flesh of ours is excruciating. We love the things we do with this flesh so much that it's extremely difficult at times to kill certain parts of it. But I promise you that it will be worth its weight in gold.
Now this portion is from the book "The Remnant.....Restoring the Call to Personal Integrity". However, as I'm writing and the Holy Spirit gives me a revelation I will indicate it.
Our Moral Values Are In Free Fall. Purity Has become a laughable term. Roving eyes spot bare flesh anywhere it is exposed. Elaborate cover-ups are revealed for all to see on Cheaters. Men with impeccable records astonish the public with their secret indulgences.
None of these trends strike with more shock value than when found in ministry. Each exposure hardens the American soul to the gospel as the legendary purity of people passes by.
It is said and I don't know if this story is true, that Billy Graham's team inspected his hotel room each evening before he retired, to make sure no one had planted a female to bring a false accusation against him.
We Christians, and especially ministers, (elders) have to get our acts together. There will always be failures in the area of moral purity, but surely we can stem the tide. Though we cannot guarantee moral purity, there are actions we can take to filter out impurity.
There are certain precautions and standards we can abide by to preclude the constant news of yet another Christian businessman, minister, or leader or elder in a runaway affair. Purity is the Christian's generational legacy, but impurity will stain your life forever, as it did for David.
Mary....I'm so tired and sick of all this free filth on our television, internet....for instance you cannot look at the news on the web without being assaulted by a picture(s) of naked or half naked women. The media has certainly no conscience about degrading us the pure ones. It's on our phones, ads, it's like we are completely surrounded. And oh how the enemy loves it. So who besides Prophet Stephen and myself, is ready for a radical, routine standard of purity?
God is still looking for purity, the called out, pure ones.
Let's see what purity is and how we can maintain it. Purity refers to the inward control of fleshly lusts, thoughts, and actions. It means "unmixed," a state of being without compromise. It means "uncontaminated," free from outside corruption. Isn't it interesting that something pure is called "unadulterated"? We desperately need some unadulterated Christians.
Paul said"To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are defiled, nothing is pure, but both their mind and their conscience are defiled" (Titus 1:15). The Nazrites, standing before God, depended on their purity. Yet Samson unfortunately illustrated the lack of purity we often find in the body of Christ. However, Samuel and John the Baptist were men dedicated to purity.
Mary....Samson played with fire and he got burnt. This is what compromise brings: when we touch the dead things of corruption we reap defilement. It's easy to yield to the lusts of the flesh but even more difficult to break its hold on you. But thank God for the Blood of Jesus that washes us clean, if we will turn from our wicked ways and repent. There is no quick formula(s) for staying pure.
Now back to the book....we must make every effort and our highest priority to walk in purity. Jesus said, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God" (Matthew 5:8.) Without purity, no one will see the Lord because God is totally pure. In the Old Testament the requirement for purification was the sprinkling of blood and water.....blood of animals.
Today according to the New Covenant it comes through applying the blood of Jesus to our minds and spirits. Hebrews 10:22..."Let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water."
Purity is like spiritual oxygen where we long to breathe pure air and drink pure water. The bible gives us clear instructions as how we are to live morally pure. Read 1Cor. 6:9-11 these are the instructions. God created Adam and Eve with pure sexual desires. Their natural attraction for each other gave rise to deep intimacy and relationship. They were one in spirit and then in body. Satan hates this powerful union and has sought from the beginning of time to pervert and disrupt God's pattern.
Homosexuality, fornication, pornography are examples of immoral behaviour. Our conscience tell us that these things are immoral, but Satan deceives us into thinking they are normal and acceptable.
Mary.....this is a powerful demonic spirit that has blinded the church for centuries, especially the churches of America.....and has convinced them that the things Paul calls immoral, are normal. We have become so brainwashed and incapacitated about the truth of the word; that we conveniently apply scripture to state our case. Well we had better stop this behaviour and submit to His will and allow Him the leverage needed to clean up our lives.
