TODAY'S WORD This article is the third in a series. The first article of the series is entitled The Seven Year Tribulation. The second article is entitled The 2,300 Day Prophecy Of Daniel-Times Of The Gentiles. Ideally, you will have carefully studied these two articles and will have given a careful look at the attached calendar before you enter into a study of this article in which we will study the 1,260 day prophecy of Revelation-The Great Tribulation. You can see the calendar of "The Times Of The Gentiles", by H. Grattan Guinness (From Nabonassar, First Emperor of the Baylonian Empire, who acceded to the throne in 747 BC to Romulus Augustus, last Emperor of the Western Roman Empire, who fell in 476 AD. This time period covers an ASTONISHING One Thousand, two hundred and sixty lunar years. (A time, times and half a time as described in Daniel 12:7). This calendar also contains the portrayal of the entire 490 years of Daniel's Seventy Weeks prophecy and displays it as completely fulfilled in 34 AD. The events contained herein conclusively prove that God was moving to limit the duration of biblically mentioned empires, before John ever received the vision of the Revelation, to that sum certain of 1,260 years, whether it was to fall out over the Julian calendar, with it's 365.24 days per year, or over the prophetic calendar, with it's 360 day years. That 1,260 Prophetic years equals 1,241.92 Julian or Solar years is simply a mathematical calculation. From there, all one has to do is study the history. H. Grattan Guinness made it very easy to do through the publication of his calendars. There is then a part 2 of the calendar that covers the years of Papal dominance up to the publication date of 1878, linked here at Calendar of "The Times Of The Gentiles" Part 2 I have continued it through 2016. Please open both parts of the calendar of "The Times Of the Gentiles" at the links provided as I will be referring to them within the body of this article. The Protestant Reformers' preferred method of interpretation for the 1,260 day prophecies of Revelation was that they referred to the Papacy and to the testimony of the two witnesses, which in the eye of the later reformers, was shown to be Martin Luther and other reformers who began their witness about the 1517. This view has been much written about exhaustively. Robert Fleming, in his book "The Rise And Fall Of The Papacy", published in 1701, presented the view which which was dominant at that time that the seals, trumpets and bowls of Revelation were prophetic pictures of time periods. The seals were believed to depict historical time from the time of Apostle John in 90 A.D. through the fall of the Roman Empire in 476 A.D. The trumpets were believed to depict the time period covering the rise to power and the establishment of the Papacy from about 533 AD to the dawn of the Reformation in 1517 A.D. There were then the parenthetical chapters of Revelation: 11, 14 and 15, that covered the Reformation and the persecution that fell upon the two witnesses from about 1416 to 1689, along with further information on two of the beasts in chapters 12 and 13. The vials were then believed to portray the time period from 1793 AD to the return of Christ. These ideas seem strange to many of us today because our modern teachers have seemingly cast them aside as useless, but I can assure you, that after careful study, they merit such consideration. Robert Fleming used this method of interpretation to accurately predict the date of 1794 as the beginning date for the waning of Papal power. The fact that he was able to predict this event one hundred years before the occurrence is something which should not have been forgotten. There was much discussion after 1794, with newspaper articles heralding the tremendous prophetic achievement of Fleming, who had been mostly forgotten by 1794, only to have his remembrance revived with the fulfillment of his prophecy. His method of prediction is found in his book, "Rise And Fall Of The Papacy", published in 1701, on pages 64-65. He calculated 1260 "prophetic years", which amount to 1241.92 "Julian years" and traced their run to 1794 by starting at the year 552 A.D., when Justinian 1, Emperor of the Eastern leg of the Roman Empire, defeated the Goths in battle, beginning the process for the re-taking of Italy that was substantially completed in 554 A.D.. Fleming reports that Justinian left the management of Italy in the hands of the Pope, thereby providing the Pope with "a new foundation of exaltation". Mr. Fleming was not the first to suggest that the scriptures pointed to a beginning of the collapse of Papal power, starting in France. See a surprising list of seventeen writers who all agreed concerning this premise at Predictions Of The French Revolution Yes, my twenty first century friends: these things were known and written about by a great many capable theological writers. I believe that Robert Fleming's greatest contribution was that the did NOT use this day for a year tool to point at one day and one day alone, nor did he make any claim that 1794 was going to totally bring down the Roman Catholic Church. In one place, he stretches a calculation out to the year 2000 and in doing so, he does something that I enthusiastically agree with. I propose that we use these 1,260 day/years, or 1,241.92 Lunar prophetic years, as a ruler and that we lay this ruler upon a calendar timeline. Clearly, Rome was not built in a day and neither is there any indication that it will fall in a literal day or even in a single year. The same is true for Papal, Roman Catholic Rome. I have written at some length about these things before so I have no wish to repeat that which I have previously written at 2012, Last Things and The Old Serpent. However, my discovery of the "Calendar Of The Gentiles" has brought this information before me once again, so I must respond to the direction of the Holy Spirit to bring these things before my readers. These three articles present an in depth depiction of the rise and fall of the Papacy and the several different periods of 1,260 years of Papal temporal power and authority during which the various scriptures regarding anti-christ, the son of perdition and the man of sin have already been fulfilled. These periods of 1,260 years are even now still being fulfilled, as I wrote about at 2012. These periods of 1,260 years were presented there as follows: BEGINNING OF THE QUOTE FROM MY ARTICLE ENTITLED "2012" THE 1260 YEAR REVELATION Robert Caringola writes in his book, "The Present Reign Of Jesus Christ": “Before I reveal the simple interpretation of the “two witnesses,”, let’s deal with the divine time measure of “a thousand two hundred and threescore days.” Ezekiel 4:6: “I have appointed thee each day for a year.” “The synonymous applications of the 1,260 day-years is simply phrased three different ways in the Bible so as to identify the doctrinal, temporal and persecuting periods given to Papal Rome.” (Items below in quotes are from Caringola) AD 254 to AD 1514-THE DOCTRINAL PERIOD “Rome is supreme in her doctrinal authority. This period runs from the “Edict of Stephen,” which asserted that the bishop of Rome was the Supreme Pontiff, to the “5th Lateran Council” where the papacy proclaimed doctrinal victory.” We find a second 1,260 year period of fulfillment here below: AD 533 to AD 1793-THE TEMPORAL, OR POLITICAL PERIOD “Rome is supreme in her temporal (political) authority. This period runs from “Justinian’s Decree,” which stated that all must be subject to the Bishop of Rome, until the destruction of Rome’s temporal power which began with the French Revolution.” Napoleon’s rise in France (beginning in 1793) was accompanied by the massacre of more than 24,000 Roman Catholic priests. “In 533 AD, the decree issued by the eastern Emperor, Justinian, elevated the bishop of Rome as “head of all the holy Churches, and of the holy priests of God.” Up to this time the bishops of all the various dioceses were looked upon as being on an equal footing in all parts of Christendom. However, the emperor decided that the Roman bishop should have preeminence. This decree by the Emperor Justinian (in 533) was an important event for the Bishop of Rome because it paved the way for the first of the popes to rise, namely Boniface III, who is named as the first pope by Dr. Grattan Guinness in his well known book, “The Approaching End of The Age.”” When I first read these things from Caringola, they shocked me. These fulfillments had been hidden from me for more than fifteen years of my Christian walk. No one had ever taught these things to me in church. I had never heard them on Television or Radio, and I had never seen a book on the Christian Bible Bookstore shelves that purported to explain such astounding Revelation to me, but there it was. As I studied further, I realized, more shockingly, that these things were well known by many ordinary Christians just a few hundred years ago, and had been well written about many dozens of times by Protestant authors. What has happened to us in the modern day body of Christ that we have been robbed of such treasure? This secret was so well known early on that it was relied upon around the year 1690 for the making of future prophecy. That idea began to intrigue me immensely, for reasons that many of you may easily discern. “One man, Robert Flemming, displayed marvelous insight into the 1,260 years of papal dominion. The historicist Flemming wrote two vital works. They are called the Apocalyptic Key and The Rise And Fall Of The Papacy.” Fleming showed his findings to King William II around 1690, more than a hundred years before the French revolution. It is said that “he looked at this date of AD 533, and said that exactly 1,260 years later, we could expect to see God pouring out his “Vials” of judgment upon the Latin kingdom of Europe. He said it must begin in the year 1793-4. He went further and said that if the judgments didn’t start in Italy, they would start in France, the eldest daughter of the papacy. And that was absolutely precise.” (Robert Caringola does not list his source for this information) The prediction made a hundred years earlier came to pass. The French Revolution and and fall of the papacy began, right on schedule, in 1793, as Fleming had predicted in more than a hundred years earlier. A third period of 1,260 years of the exercise of beastly power is found here: AD 606 to AD 1866-THE PERSECUTING PERIOD “Rome enters the time given her to persecute and overcome the saints of the Most High (see also Daniel 7:25): From the “Phocas Decree” which made Boniface III the first official pope, to the last massacre (burning) of Protestants in Barletta, Italy.” Through further study, of other writers, I discovered that the first orders by a pope for the killing of “heretics” came by papal order in 606 AD and the last orders, (so far) for such came in 1866 in Spain, exactly 1,260 years. This is as far as the historicist Caringola carries us in our consideration. Caringola only cared to look in the rear view mirror, and saw three periods of 1,260 years already fulfilled in Church history. But, I am especially intrigued by the bold use made by the prophetic historicist Flemming. For surely, one of my readers must be wondering what any of this has to do with the year 2012. With that in mind, I began to search Catholic history to see if perhaps another cycle of church history might have begun later that might come to a 1260 year fulfillment in our century. What I found will shock you, I am sure, but will also cause you to nod your head, as I did, in understanding and agreement. AD 752-758 to AD 2012-2018-THE FALSE ROYALTY OF THE HARLOT: RICHES, LAND AND PROPERTY PERIOD "The biblical harlot of Revelation 17 is bejeweled and laden with precious metals. The beast of Revelation 13 is representative of a kingdom. Kingdoms have kings, and they have subjects and property. So, it behooves us to consider the date when the Roman Catholic Church began to acquire massive land holdings and properties." I have inserted this paragraph above from my article entitled “Last Things”, written in its’ third edition in 2008, and available on my website homepage at http://usaprophet.com The direct link to my "Last Things" article is: Last Things “I had previously known about each of these prophetic fulfillments for some time, but I discovered the existence of a fourth time period of 1260 years in length this week that had been hidden from my eyes until now. This one has not yet reached its' terminus. The expansion of Roman Catholic power to control large areas of land holdings did not begin to occur until 752 AD, when Pope Stephen III began his relationship with the French King Peppin. Then, a short two years later, in 754 AD, the area from Rome, north to Ravenna, was placed into the Pope's hands for political rule by the French emperor Pepin the short. Pepin granted Pope Stephen III the right to rule over those 16,000 square miles of land. Control by the Papacy over this province was effectively consolidated by 758 AD. This became the first of the Papal lands. The 1,260 year period that commenced with that transaction in 752 AD will begin to reach its' terminus in the year 2012-2018. This speaks of a process that will begin in the year 2012 that will require several years to fully realize the total downfall of the harlot church and the stripping of her property and monetary holdings. Just as it required several years from 752 for the initial Papal land of Ravenna to be secured in the hands of the Papacy, so it shall also require several years for the total stripping of the modern harlot church to occur. END OF THE QUOTE FROM MY ARTICLE ENTITLED "2012" I look at this now from the perspective of 2019 and I believe this event is in process of being fulfilled through the precarious situation in the world's banking system due to derivatives and the numerous countries that are piling up unprecedented amounts of debt in their fiat currencies that are backed by nothing but faith and confidence. The financial crash that is certainly coming will probably take down most of the monetary elements of religious harlotry. World wide war appears to be at the door. Given that Robert Fleming stated that the scriptures prove that the Mother harlot Roman Catholic Church and her daughter harlot churches will be with us until Jesus returns to consume them utterly, I believe that we are watching the beginning stages of this downfall that began to appear in 2008 during the last financial crisis. The underlying causes for that crisis were never dealt with: they are still with us. I will write later that there are indications in the prophetic scriptures that could stretch this harlot church downfall out to 2060 or beyond. I have begun to write to you just now, knowing that it will literally take a great miracle of God for me to be able to impart truth to you on this subject matter. I pray for you to receive such a miracle. There is so much indoctrination to overcome. There is so much teaching that has gone before on these things during the last hundred years and most of it is not good and not of God. Cable television has opened up so much opportunity for teachers to gain access to the believers during the last fifty years and most of those things that are taught on television ministry programs will run counter to the truth that I have presented here. Just now, these lines from the song Jesus Christ, Superstar, are running through my spirit. "If he'd come today He would have reached a whole nation. Israel in 4 BC had no mass communication." Strange, is it not, that Jesus decided to visit the Earth in such a time when its' inhabitants had not yet even dreamed of internet, smartphone, a book let alone printed newspaper. We look at that and we think that if the planning had been left to us, we would have arranged His coming at a more opportune time: one when satellites might have beamed pictures of Him, hanging on the cross, to the whole world simultaneously. Yet, Jesus did not choose to avail himself of any of this. He did not even hire a stenographer or a biographer. He enlisted eight fishermen, a tax collector and a few other non-theologians to his cause. He steered a wide birth around the Yeshiva in Jerusalem and avoided the Hebrew school entirely. He never even paid a visit to the Sanhedrin. Where did He go to find followers? Down to the sea-shore! Today, we have cable and satellite television along with digital satellite radio. The internet sites hawk books and DVD's on prophecy for a price to pay for the lavish lifestyles of our rock star ministers. We believe that, surely, the true message must be there, presented by our present day church leaders, yet you will have had to reach this web site in the wilderness of the internet and read the writings of a little known man. Who would devise such a plan for the distribution of truth? Jesus! Let us take a brief look at what we are up against in gaining a correct understanding here. One of the most knowledgeable teachers on cable TV, yet totally forward facing in prophetic focus, is Irvin Baxter. His forward focus indicates the presence of a fairly complete agreement with the futurist teachings of the Jesuit Francisco Ribera that were promulgated around 1583. I have taken this passage from his ministry website at www.endtime.com. BEGIN QUOTE FROM IRVIN BAXTER Many people say that there is a seven-year tribulation but there’s not one scripture to prove that. However, there are six specific scriptures that say the great tribulation will last for three and one half years. Let me give those scriptures to you. Daniel 7:25 says that the little horn (the Antichrist) will make war against the saints for time, times, and half a time. This is repeated several times throughout scripture as time being one year, times two years, and half a time being half a year. We know that for sure because the exact same prophecy is in Revelation 13:5, there it says power was given to the beast to continue 42 months. So it says he would continue for three and a half years, a time, times, and half a time. In Revelation 13:5 it says that he will make war against the saints for 42 months. Then in Revelation 12:5-6 it says that the dragon made war against the woman Israel for 1,260 days; that’s also three and a half years. All these passages are describing the length of the time of the great tribulation. Finally, Jesus said in Matthew 24:15 that when you see the Abomination of Desolation, let those which be in Judaea flee because then shall there be great tribulation such as never has been before, nor ever again shall be. So Jesus said the Abomination of Desolation is the event that will trigger the great tribulation. We know from Daniel 9:27 that the Abomination of Desolation will occur halfway through the final seven year period called Daniel’s 70th week. There is a seven-year period called Daniel’s 70th week, described in Daniel 9:27. But the Abomination of Desolation occurs in the middle of that seven-year period, and Jesus said that’s the event that triggers the Great Tribulation. So the first three and a half years of Daniel’s 70th week will not be great tribulation at all, it doesn’t start until the halfway point. The Seven Year Tribulation or Three and a Half year Great Tribulation END QUOTE FROM IRVIN BAXTER Clearly, the prevailing thought today is that these scriptures all refer to future things. Mr. Baxter has made many assumptions here as all forward looking futurists do. This is so ingrained in present day prophetic thinking that the only argument is seemingly the pre, mid or post argument and in terms of whether we will have a seven year great tribulation or a three and one half year great tribulation. The truth has been lost somewhere, trodden under foot, after having been previously revealed to men. Furthermore, Mr. Baxter puts forth the majority view on the identity of anti-christ today, yet we seem to have forgotten that we are to prioritize the interpretation of scripture with other scripture and there is only one scripture that mentions the word anti-christ. That scripture is 1 John 2:18-19: 1Jn 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. 1Jn 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. Does it not seem proper then to first and foremost interpret the identity of an anti-christ to come after the writing of this scripture in the manner directed by scripture? Scripture says that he will be one "who went out from us". In short, anti-christ will be an apostate christian. The Papacy fits this description perfectly, yet our majority view today is that anti-christ will be some sort of rock star, European politician. Could it be that our modern teachers have interpreted it all wrong? I do want to say further with respect to the ministry of Irvin Baxter that I applaud him in that he has been a capable champion in the hands of the Lord to dispel the lie of the pre-tribulation rapture. He had even made some progress to the convincing of Paul Crouch as to the likely falsehood of the pre-tribulation rapture position prior to the death of Mr. Crouch. That headway gained by the ministry of Endtime.com should make it somewhat easier to advance now to a position of attaining to the whole truth and nothing but the truth. The last thing that I want to do is ever get into an argument about pre, mid or post as I believe all to be wrong, however the most noxious of the positions is the "pre" argument because it creates and escapist mindset in the believer that leads and has led to prophetic apathy. The prevailing attitude among most of these people is "I am a Christian, I will not be here when those things happen, so what does that have to do with me?" Thankfully, Irvin Baxter has been used by God as a hammer for the word of God in this matter. The best place start as we begin to study the subject of the 1,260 day prophecy is with the word of God. We will now list all the scriptures that Irvin Baxter alluded to above along with a few others that have to do with the 1,260 day prophecy and the ministry of the two witnesses: Dan 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. Dan 12:7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished. Rev 11:2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. Rev 11:3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. Rev 11:9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. Rev 11:11 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. Rev 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. Rev 12:14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. Rev 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. Let us first notice that many words and phrases are used in these apocalyptic books to describe a period that we are asked by Irvin Baxter to believe consists of 1,260 literal days. Please, please also remember, in quoting Pat Robertson, that "these books contain much apocalyptic language". Pat Robertson meant that it is clear that there is much about the Revelation that should not be understood literally, but symbolically. The Revelation says of itself in Revelation 1:1 that He "sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John." We are therefore told, straight out, that what we have here has been delivered to us in signs and also, may I say, many symbols. God could have used the same, consistent term, "1,260 days" throughout but He also chose to use the terms "forty and two months", "a time, and times, and half a time" and "three days and a half". We are going to have to unlock the key of meaning to see just what is signified by these four different phrases. We see seven total mentions in the Revelation of these four phrases. Daniel mentions one of these phrases twice. Help us Holy Spirit! I already mentioned the "Calendar Of The Times Of The Gentiles", by H. Grattan Guinness Calendar of "The Times Of The Gentiles" Part 1.. Guinness made a discovery in 1878 that astounded him. The completion of the work of his calendar prompted the discovery that the four empires of Daniel and Nebuchadnezzar covered exactly 1,260 Lunar years (From Nabonassar, First Emperor of the Baylonian Empire, who acceded to the throne in 747 BC to Romulus Augustus, last Emperor of the Western Roman Empire, who fell in 476 AD). H. Grattan Guinness discovered this fact in 1878 but I only became aware of it two weeks ago (in 2014). I have never, ever heard anyone mention this fact, nor have I ever read in any of the hundreds of books I have read on prophecy, that such a calendar presentation existed with this magnitude of a discovery depicted within it. Do you, my reader, know what this means? God had already shown by the year 476 AD that He was going to express His will upon human history to force by the power of His will all of the empire building activities of men into boundaries of one thousand, two hundred and sixty years! Men operated within their free will, making their own decisions to go to war, to attack neighbors, to take kingdoms by intrigue and all the other means utilized by which four successive empires rose and fell, yet God displayed his sovereignty by causing this history to flow like a river within a channel and no floods were allowed. Men's free will had to flow within God's established boundary of one thousand, two hundred and sixty years! Perhaps it also gives us some light to understand the mention of "seven times" in Daniel 4:25 as God was speaking to Nebuchadnezzar, the great king of Babylon at its' peak. We see "three and a half times" already fulfilled by 476 AD. That leaves open ample possibility for the fulfillment of another "three and a half times" period with time to spare before we reach the present day. This discovery makes it all that much more acceptable and preferable to first look at any other 1,260 year periods that have occurred in later historical times and to find them as I have already shown are displayed in the history of Papal periods of temporal power. After all, this is just what Robert Fleming did to link the events of 552 with a time 1,241.92 years distant (1,260 lunar years) to reach 1794 and correctly reach the French Revolution. Daniel spoke of two other time periods of which he says have relation to the period of a time, times and half a time. We find those scriptures here: Dan 12:8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? Dan 12:9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Dan 12:10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. Dan 12:11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. Dan 12:12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days. Dan 12:13 But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days. Daniel noted in verse 10 above that the wise would be the only ones who would understand these things. Lord, wash us with your blood and make us wise! We have three further scriptures of interest that represent the only mentions of the phrase "great tribulation" to be found in our King James Bible: Mat_24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. Rev_2:22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. Rev_7:14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. CONCLUSION #1 Restriction of a 1,260 day prophetic time period to some future, literal period of three and one half years is unwarranted, not supported by scripture and not in agreement with the witness of the Holy Spirit. The day for a year method of interpretation of these apocalyptic prophetic time periods has proven itself, over a period of more than four hundred years. Robert Fleming and his prediction, made before the King of England in 1690, that the Papacy would begin to wane in 1793, 1,260 years after the decree made by Justinian in 533 (Page 616 of the Guinness Calendar, part 2) that the Pope was the preeminent Bishop over God's church, should have settled this issue forever. I am sure that no one would have predicted in 1793 that almost everyone would have forgotten the details of the French Revolution by the year 2000 and that almost every christian to a man would have no interest in historical study. CONCLUSION #2 Restriction of a 1,260 day prophetic time period to some future period called "The Great Tribulation" is unwarranted, not supported by scripture and not in agreement with the witness of the Holy Spirit. The three scriptures that have to do with the term "great tribulation" concern themselves with events that have been much documented throughout church history. Fifty million martyrs made at the hands of the Papacy would argue this point and plead for consideration that their suffering is included in the proper interpretation of those three scriptures. CONCLUSION #3 There will certainly be a period of great tribulation just prior to the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Please read my article at The Seven Year Tribulation where I conclusively demonstrate that all expectation of a future seven year tribulation period is totally unsupported from scripture. Therefore, any argument is false that there is a three and one half year great tribulation period that exists as a sub-section of the last half of that imaginary seven year tribulation period. The period of tribulation that will occur prior to our Lord's next coming will be great and terrible and it will not be limited to any period of three and one half or seven years. CONCLUSION #4 Daniel has drawn our attention to a period of 1,290 days, which I shall take as indicative of 1,290 years, from the time when the abomination that maketh desolate was set up in the temple of God. The most appropriate date in history for that event to be deemed triggered is the Decree of Phocas in 606 AD (Page 618 of the Guinness Calendar, part 2). So, Daniel then explains what is an added thirty years to the time periods already explained above in this article. Then, we also further read in the next verse in Daniel 12:12 of a decree of a blessing to the one who "waiteth and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days." I conclude from these two prophecies that there is a period of seventy five years that is indicated to follow after each of the termination dates of the 1,260 year periods. There were many who were looking to the time near unto the year of 1941 AD for some type of wind up or concluding act as that was seventy five years after the 1866 AD expiration of the period of Papal Temporal power. Clearly, the use of the Lunar Calendar or the prophetic calendar of 360 day years would seem to point at World War 2 as some type of wind up to the temporal power of the Pope over the Kings of the Earth. The fall of Italy in World War 2 may very well fulfill that as a concluding event in 1945. By the same reasoning, I am looking to the period that will fall seventy five years from the period of 2012-2018 that we are now living in. That will be 2,087 AD to 2,093 AD, when others who are like minded in the future may be looking for some type of wind up or concluding act of our Lord's total destruction of Mystery Babylon, the mother of harlots. CONCLUSION #5 There may be yet other periods of 1,260 year periods with which we may need to be concerned. The Holy Roman Empire was not fully constituted until the year 800 AD with the coronation of Charlemagne, the delivery to Charlemagne of the keys of Jerusalem and with the full temporal control of the ten nation, Holy Roman Empire having been brought under the domination of the Papacy at that time (Page 628 of the Guinness Calendar, part 2). This time period of 1,260 years, running from 800 AD to 2,060 AD, would be the fifth period of so many years with which we may have to do. Since there are five mentions of this time period in the book of Revelation that have to do with the activities of the beast, this may have been a hint that we were to expect this. This would not even begin to come into a time of termination until the year 2,060 AD. Seventy five years afterward might indicate a continuation to 2,135 AD. I have not previously read of this before and it may not even be possible to gain a more full understanding of what this might portend until the day arrives when our Lord Jesus appears on the clouds with thousands and ten thousands of His holy ones. Join with me in praying with more light from the Lord. Then, perhaps in the light of that future day, someone might say, as Peter said while gazing at many tongues of fire that were resting on top of the heads of men, THIS IS THAT! APPENDIX I have studied extensively on these subjects. There is a growth curve to be endured because we Americans have not been taught to study history. Our churches are filled with cotton candy sermons and NO ONE knows the history of the church. The pastors are entirely ignorant. So, where do I lead you to start? It allows you to tippy toe into the shallow water of these things in a sort of gentle manner. This is very good for the American who does not know any history. Grattan Guinness wrote a 522 page book in 1905 entitled "History Unveiling Prophecy". This is the finest book of its' type for heading into the deeper waters of Biblical history. You could read this book, stop here, and have sufficient understanding to withstand modern doctrinal corruptions. Charles Haddon Spurgeon regarded it as the finest book on biblical prophecy ever written to that point and I agree. But, it is incredibly hard for a 21st century American to digest because of all the archaic geographical references. I recommend that you buy it, and start with Volume 1, chapter 5, beginning on page 416 through page 468, regarding how the Moslems fulfilled the fifth trumpet/first woe. If you have eyes to see this, it will change you forever. This study bible, published in America, probably did the most to popularize the “futurist method” of interpreting bible prophecy along with the pre-tribulation rapture teaching which sprang from that interpretation. Most people do not know that the origin of this "futurist method" hailed from a much earlier time and from anti-reformation, indeed anti-christian circles. His name was Francisco Ribera and he advanced the "futurist method" in 1583 as a way of interpreting all biblical prophecy. Origin Of Rapture Doctrine He was a Jesuit Priest: A black robed Roman Catholic, from whom are numbered many assassins. He had a very obvious motive for advancing his proposition. Martin Luther and the other reformers had made great headway against Roman Catholicism with their own proposition: that the Pope in any age was antichrist, and the Roman Catholic Church was the fulfillment of what the bible called Mystery Babylon in Revelation 17. Finally, get yourself a Geneva Bible, 1560 edition: the bible of the Pilgrims. You do not really believe they came to America carrying the bible of King James, do you? The later editions do not have the all important footnotes. You can check the footnotes for yourself to see, in the margin comments for Revelation 13, that the reformers all regarded the Papacy as anti-christ.
