Prophecy: The Fog Of 2017

TODAY'S WORD
 There are many whom I have noticed over the years who put forth a New Year's Day word of prophecy. This is something I have never done and it is not even anything I have asked the Lord to do for me or through me. I have generally regarded that our Lord needs to have more fingertip control over us than simply to send us forth with a word for the year. I need a word for the day and sometimes, I need to hear from Him even more frequently than that. But this year, the Lord gave me a word on New Year's Day and He let me know that it was a word for the whole year. I have been waiting for the right time to bring it forth and the Spirit is leading me to do it now.

The word came forth in an interesting way. New Year's Day this year was a Sunday and we had just finished our Sunday worship meeting. It was an exceedingly foggy day here on the mountaintop that day. Normally, we would not venture out on such a day but I felt led to take my wife out somewhere on the mountaintop for Sunday dinner. So, we got in the truck and headed over Monteagle way.

The fog was thickening even more as we were nearing Monteagle and I was following a white car on the way. Periodically, the only thing I could see of that car was the red tail lights and I found that I was varying the distance between our vehicles to see just how far back I could drive and still keep the white part of that car in view. I began to think that we needed to get our dinner eaten and get back home, for I certainly did not want to be out in this soup after nightfall. Suddenly, the Lord spoke.

"This year, a fog is descending upon my people. Deep darkness has already descended upon the world and upon the people. The fog will cause many of you to lose sight of me. You must endeavor in this year to follow me more closely, for following me too far off this year will be spiritually fatal. Those of you who obey my admonition will begin to display more of my glory as you follow me ever more closely."

Some time later, I hunted up the scripture that was related to this word:

Isa 60:1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. Isa 60:2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. Isa 60:3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. Isa 60:4 Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side. Isa 60:5 Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.

Luk 22:54 Then took they him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest's house. And Peter followed afar off. Luk 22:55 And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them. Luk 22:56 But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him. Luk 22:57 And he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not. Luk 22:58 And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou art also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not. Luk 22:59 And about the space of one hour after another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilaean. Luk 22:60 And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew. Luk 22:61 And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. Luk 22:62 And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.
