Since the Prophet connected the wise and foolish virgins in Matthew 25 with the prophetic word we received on Christmas day about putting out the lamps; I seem to find myself going back and reading the chapter a few times. It seems to be stuck in my spirit.
I mean, who goes to meet their Bridegroom and doesn't fill their lamps? In Mark 8:34, Jesus speaks to His disciples "Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and FOLLOW ME." A CROSS is heavy and it is heavy to bear. In the natural world no one wants to carry a cross. Yet Jesus says if you're going to follow me, it's going to take something on your part to accomplish that.
Here we see a picture again of following closely, not from a distance. I get the impression that the foolish virgins may have also been following the Bridegroom afar off, causing them to miss their opportunity to be invited to the marriage supper.
As mentioned in Prophet Stephen's article, they had a lack of passion for their Bridegroom. I sense that even though they were mentioned as being virgins, their lack of passion was birthed when they followed their Bridegroom afar off. We can also find ourselves in a situation like theirs, if we choose to follow Him from a distance. The further we go into the darkness, the harder it is to find our way back.
Finally, If you keep following Me even though darkness may be all around you, know that there will be light to lighten your way. Your visibility will change and the darkness will decrease. So let's keep our Vision of Jesus close as we follow Him daily. In His Service
