TODAY'S WORD
Where are you Steve?

This morning, this question was asked by a friend of mine?

I feel led to answer: I am sitting quietly before the LORD.

Psalm 62:7 �My soul, wait thou only upon God, for my expectation is from him.�

Isaiah 8:17 �And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.�

Habakkuk 2:1 �I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.�

Nahum 1:6-7 �Who can stand before his indignation? And who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? His fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him. The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

Zephaniah 2:1-3 1 Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired; Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD�S anger come upon you. 3 Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD�S anger.

Psalm 17:8 �Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings.�

Psalm 27:5 �For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me, he shall set me up upon a rock.�

Psalm 74:9 �We see not our signs: there is no more any prophet: neither is there among us any that knoweth how long.�

Ezekiel 7:25-26 �Destruction cometh; and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none. Mischief shall come upon mischief and rumour shall be upon rumour; then shall they seek a vision of the prophet; but the law shall perish from the priest, and the counsel from the ancients.

Micah 3:6-8 �Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them. Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God. But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.�

Deuteronomy 31:16 �And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them. 17 Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they will say in that day, Are not these evils come upon us, because our God is not among us?�

Ezekiel 12:24 For there shall be no more any vain vision nor flattering divination within the house of Israel. For I am the LORD: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass; it shall be no more prolonged: for in your days, O rebellious house, will I say the word, and will perform it, saith the Lord GOD. 26 Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 27 Son of man, behold, they of the house of Israel say, The vision that he seeth is for many days to come, and he prophesieth of the times that are far off. 28 Therefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; There shall none of my words be prolonged any more, but the word which I have spoken shall be done, saith the Lord GOD.

Psalm 62:1 �Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation. 2 He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.�

Lamentations 3:26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD. 27 It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth. 28 He sitteth alone and keepeth silence, because he hath borne it upon him. 29 He putteth his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope. 30 He giveth his cheek to him that smiteth him: he is filled full with reproach. 31 For the Lord will not cast off for ever: 32 But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies. 33 For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men. 34 To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth, 35 To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High, 36 To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord approveth not. 37 Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not? 38 Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good? 39 Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins? 40 Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD. 41 Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens. 42 We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned. 43 Thou hast covered with anger, and persecuted us: thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied. 44 Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through. 45 Thou hast made us as the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the people. 46 All our enemies have opened their mouths against us. 47 Fear and a snare is come upon us, desolation and destruction. 48 Mine eye runneth down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people. 49 Mine eye trickleth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission, 50 Till the LORD look down, and behold from heaven. 51 Mine eye affecteth mine heart because of all the daughters of my city.

Oh Lord, we are every one of us unclean, and are among a people of unclean lips. We are afflicted, and have not wrought deliverance in our nation of America. It is as if we have been with child, and have brought forth wind. Oh Lord, I groan in my inward parts for the destroyed of my countrymen. Our cities are devastated in nuclear nightmare. Our crops are blighted by nuclear winter. Oh Lord, you have consumed us in your wrath, and caused others to rule over us. We sit in the mountains, moaning like doves, because of our sins.

Thy beautiful land is spoiled. The city you set on a hill has been pulled down, and all for a people who would not return to the Lord their God; a people who changed their God for those things that are no God at all. To this people, you sent your prophets, rising up early, you sent them. And yet, they were considered as madmen and fools. Your pastors were brutish and made themselves fat. And now, a desolation�a desolation is all that remains. You have emptied the land of its� inhabitants, and have unleashed storm, famine, pestilence and sword, and we are wasted. The great and mighty temples are the haunts of wild animals and birds. All is emptiness�..emptiness. The houses where we praised thee oh Lord are upturned, broken and shattered.

We have been shaken by men and shaken by God. We have been tossed and scattered. We have fled to the left, and to the right. We have nowhere else to flee but to you. Have mercy upon us, Oh Lord our God. We hide ourselves in thee. Hide us, oh Lord our God, in the shadow of your wings.

Will you refrain yourself at all oh Lord for these things? Will you afflict us very sore?

But now, oh Lord, thou art our father, we are the clay, and thou our potter, and we all are the work of they hand. Be not wroth very sore, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, see, we beseech thee, we are all thy people.
