TODAY'S WORD
A VOICE IN THE CITY; A VOICE IN THE TEMPLE
LET US REMOVE HENCE!
Recently, I was creating a CD Audio bible for a friend. The disk layout had to contain a maximum of 300 files per CD, because that is the maximum number of mp3 files that my friend’s DVD player can recognize on one disk.

So, I created the five disk set of the whole bible, and I burned a set for me, because my DVD player, attached to my TV, operates in the same way. I found myself actually using the set, because now, I can simply let the audio bible run all night over the TV without involving the computer.

One interesting byproduct of this exercise is that the Lord has been waking me up, at different times of the night to have me listen to particular scriptures as they are playing through the night in my bedroom. This happened last week with Isaiah 66. Since that time, I cannot get away from this scripture, and He has given me much greater insight into it.

TRAVAIL, THE MANCHILD AND SEALING
Isaiah 66 is the 744th chapter of the bible as we count in from the front. As I have it on my CD audio set, it is the 144th file on the third disk. As the Lord awakened me, and quickened my by His Holy Spirit with regard to this chapter, I was immediately connected in my mind with Revelation 7 and the sealing of the 144,000 as I awakened and noticed that I was listening to the 144th mp3 file on the disk. The 19th verse of Isaiah 66 says that He will set a sign among them. This hints at a sealing, or a visible sign.

I was listening to this scripture that morning, and the Lord said:

“The surest sign that travail is ready to begin on the Earth is the appearance of mature sons and daughters of God upon the Earth.”

The Lord has previously told me and shown me that I have seen these mature sons brought forth last fall, 2004, and therefore, I know that the travail has begun, and is going to increase, in the Earth. It is the surest sign.

The Lord has also said that He is sealing His servants, right now. As He finishes the sealings, travail will begin in that particular geographic area of the world, and has already commenced. Judgement will first begin with the ancients in the House of the Lord.

Verse seven makes this statement in another way. The “manchild”, or mature sons and daughters of God, are brought forth by God just prior to the time of great travail. Verse eight says “as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.” So, scripturally, there is a close linkage between the coming forth of these sons, and the commencement of travail and tribulation.

In the ensuing days, I have spent some time studying this scripture, and God has been revealing some interesting things to me, that I believe I ought to share.

ISAIAH 66
1 Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?
2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.
3 He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine’s blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.
4 I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.
5 Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name’s sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.
6 A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompence to his enemies.
7 Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.
8 Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.
9 Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God.
10 Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her:
11 That ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory.
12 For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees.
13 As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.
14 And when ye see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb: and the hand of the LORD shall be known toward his servants, and his indignation toward his enemies.
15 For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.
16 For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many.
17 They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine’s flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.
18 For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory.
19 And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those that escape of them unto the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles.
20 And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the LORD out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the LORD, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD.
21 And I will also take of them for priests and for Levites, saith the LORD.
22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.
23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.
24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

666 AND JOSEPHUS
Isaiah 66:6
6 A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompence to his enemies.
One interesting thing that I have found during my study is from the works of Josephus, entitled “Wars”. Josephus describes the first fulfillment of this scripture, as it occurred on the Earth between 66 and 70 A.D. in Jerusalem. He recounts the supernatural signs and events that happened in Jerusalem prior to 70 A.D., where God warned the residents about what was to come. I have copied the whole passage for those of you who may have never seen this history before.

One thing to highlight from the following paragraph is the warnings of Jesus, son of Ananus. He went through Jerusalem, repeatedly crying out “A voice from the east, a voice from the west, a voice from the four winds, a voice against Jerusalem and the holy house, a voice against the bridegrooms and the brides, and a voice against this whole people!"

According to Josephus, Jesus, son of Ananus began crying out this repetitive warning four years prior to the commencement of the great war. The history records that when he began shouting out the warning phrase, Jerusalem was in the midst of a time of great prosperity and peace. The ISBE records that the siege of Titus began on Nisan 14, in the year 70 A.D.. This means that Jesus, son of Ananus, began his warnings in the year 66.

So, Jesus, son of Ananus, began to warn Jerusalem in 66 A.D., using the words from Isaiah 66:6! I have not seen anyone, anywere, who has made this connection. His warnings were alerts that the prophecies of Jesus of Nazareth regarding Jerusalem, were nigh unto fulfillment.

The War of the Jews/Book 6/Chapter 5/Section 3:
“3. Thus were the miserable people persuaded by these deceivers, and such as belied God himself; while they did not attend nor give credit to the signs that were so evident, and did so plainly foretell their future desolation, but, like men infatuated, without either eyes to see or minds to consider, did not regard the denunciations that God made to them. Thus there was a star (Whether Josephus means that this star was different from that comet which lasted a whole year, I cannot certainly determine. His words most favor their being different one from another.) resembling a sword, which stood over the city, and a comet, that continued a whole year. Thus also before the Jews' rebellion, and before those commotions which preceded the war, when the people were come in great crowds to the feast of unleavened bread, on the eighth day of the month Xanthicus, (Since Josephus still uses the Syro-Macedonian month Xanthicus for the Jewish month Nisan, this eighth, or, as Nicephorus reads it, this ninth of Xanthicus or Nisan was almost a week before the passover, on the fourteenth; about which time we learn from St. John that many used to go "out of the country to Jerusalem to purify themselves," John 11:55, with 12:1; in agreement with Josephus also, B. V. ch. 3. sect. 1. And it might well be, that in the sight of these this extraordinary light might appear.) [Nisan,] and at the ninth hour of the night, so great a light shone round the altar and the holy house, that it appeared to be bright day time; which lasted for half an hour. This light seemed to be a good sign to the unskillful, but was so interpreted by the sacred scribes, as to portend those events that followed immediately upon it. At the same festival also, a heifer, as she was led by the high priest to be sacrificed, brought forth a lamb in the midst of the temple. Moreover, the eastern gate of the inner (This here seems to be the court of the priests.) [court of the] temple, which was of brass, and vastly heavy, and had been with difficulty shut by twenty men, and rested upon a basis armed with iron, and had bolts fastened very deep into the firm floor, which was there made of one entire stone, was seen to be opened of its own accord about the sixth hour of the night. Now those that kept watch in the temple came hereupon running to the captain of the temple, and told him of it; who then came up thither, and not without great difficulty was able to shut the gate again. This also appeared to the vulgar to be a very happy prodigy, as if God did thereby open them the gate of happiness. But the men of learning understood it, that the security of their holy house was dissolved of its own accord, and that the gate was opened for the advantage of their enemies. So these publicly declared that the signal foreshowed the desolation that was coming upon them. Besides these, a few days after that feast, on the one and twentieth day of the month Artemisius, [Jyar,] a certain prodigious and incredible phenomenon appeared: I suppose the account of it would seem to be a fable, were it not related by those that saw it, and were not the events that followed it of so considerable a nature as to deserve such signals; for, before sun-setting, chariots and troops of soldiers in their armor were seen running about among the clouds, and surrounding of cities. Moreover, at that feast which we call Pentecost, as the priests were going by night into the inner [court of the temple,] as their custom was, to perform their sacred ministrations, they said that, in the first place, they felt a quaking, and heard a great noise, and after that they heard a sound as of a great multitude, saying, "Let us remove hence." But, what is still more terrible, there was one Jesus, the son of Ananus, a plebeian and a husbandman, who, four years before the war began, and at a time when the city was in very great peace and prosperity, came to that feast whereon it is our custom for every one to make tabernacles to God in the temple, (Both Reland and Havercamp in this place alter the natural punctuation and sense of Josephus, and this contrary to the opinion of Valesilus and Dr. Hudson, lest Josephus should say that the Jews built booths or tents within the temple at the feast of tabernacles; which the later Rabbins will not allow to have been the ancient practice: but then, since it is expressly told us in Nehemiah, ch. 8:16, that in still elder times "the Jews made booths in the courts of the house of God" at that festival, Josephus may well be permitted to say the same. And indeed the modern Rabbins are of very small authority in all such matters of remote antiquity.) began on a sudden to cry aloud, "A voice from the east, a voice from the west, a voice from the four winds, a voice against Jerusalem and the holy house, a voice against the bridegrooms and the brides, and a voice against this whole people!" This was his cry, as he went about by day and by night, in all the lanes of the city. However, certain of the most eminent among the populace had great indignation at this dire cry of his, and took up the man, and gave him a great number of severe stripes; yet did not he either say any thing for himself, or any thing peculiar to those that chastised him, but still went on with the same words which he cried before. Hereupon our rulers, supposing, as the case proved to be, that this was a sort of divine fury in the man, brought him to the Roman procurator, where he was whipped till his bones were laid bare; yet he did not make any supplication for himself, nor shed any tears, but turning his voice to the most lamentable tone possible, at every stroke of the whip his answer was, "Woe, woe to Jerusalem!" And when Albinus (for he was then our procurator) asked him, Who he was? and whence he came? and why he uttered such words? he made no manner of reply to what he said, but still did not leave off his melancholy ditty, till Albinus took him to be a madman, and dismissed him. Now, during all the time that passed before the war began, this man did not go near any of the citizens, nor was seen by them while he said so; but he every day uttered these lamentable words, as if it were his premeditated vow, "Woe, woe to Jerusalem!" Nor did he give ill words to any of those that beat him every day, nor good words to those that gave him food; but this was his reply to all men, and indeed no other than a melancholy presage of what was to come. This cry of his was the loudest at the festivals; and he continued this ditty for seven years and five months, without growing hoarse, or being tired therewith, until the very time that he saw his presage in earnest fulfilled in our siege, when it ceased; for as he was going round upon the wall, he cried out with his utmost force, "Woe, woe to the city again, and to the people, and to the holy house!" And just as he added at the last, "Woe, woe to myself also!" there came a stone out of one of the engines, and smote him, and killed him immediately; and as he was uttering the very same presages he gave up the ghost. “

I have reprinted this whole passage, and now, I will select a few points for emphasis. These were the warnings from God that Josephus made note of that began coming forth from God, during a time of great peace and safety in Jerusalem:

THE SEVEN SIGNS OF 70 A.D.
1) A Star, In The Shape of A Sword, And A Comet—“Thus there was a star (Whether Josephus means that this star was different from that comet which lasted a whole year, I cannot certainly determine. His words most favor their being different one from another.) resembling a sword, which stood over the city, and a comet, that continued a whole year.”
2) A Great Light Shone Around The Altar—“so great a light shone round the altar and the holy house, that it appeared to be bright day time; which lasted for half an hour. This light seemed to be a good sign to the unskillful, but was so interpreted by the sacred scribes, as to portend those events that followed immediately upon it.”
3) A Heifer Birthed A Lamb In The Temple—“a heifer, as she was led by the high priest to be sacrificed, brought forth a lamb in the midst of the temple.”
4) The Door Of The Temple Swung Open By God—“. So these publicly declared that the signal foreshowed the desolation that was coming upon them.”
5) Visions Of Armies And Chariots, Circling Jerusalem-“ Besides these, a few days after that feast, on the one and twentieth day of the month Artemisius, [Jyar,] a certain prodigious and incredible phenomenon appeared: I suppose the account of it would seem to be a fable, were it not related by those that saw it, and were not the events that followed it of so considerable a nature as to deserve such signals; for, before sun-setting, chariots and troops of soldiers in their armor were seen running about among the clouds, and surrounding of cities.” Jesus of Nazareth has warned about his sign in Luke 21:20..”And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.”
6) An Audible Voice Of Warning-“ Moreover, at that feast which we call Pentecost, as the priests were going by night into the inner [court of the temple,] as their custom was, to perform their sacred ministrations, they said that, in the first place, they felt a quaking, and heard a great noise, and after that they heard a sound as of a great multitude, saying, "Let us remove hence."
7) The Prophetic Warnings Of Jesus, son of Ananus (previously described)

Four of these seven prophetic signs and warnings involved the temple, and it is not difficult to figure out why. One sign was a vision, had by many, that fulfilled a warning given by Jesus of Nazareth. This warning let the wise interpreter know that the desolation of Jerusalem was nigh. One sign was a cosmic sign in the heavens, and the final, seventh sign, was that of a wandering, strange, woe proclaiming prophet who was persecuted, and otherwise ignored.

The Israelites were guilty of trusting in the temple, and not in God. Verse 1 of Isaiah 66 begins to deal with this subject, and clearly makes the case that God has no need for temples built by human hands. Today, men trust in their churches, and in their pastors. Has the same error been committed?

Ecclesiastes 1:9
“The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? It hath been already of old time, which was before us.”

What if God decided to repeat his warnings that He gave to Jerusalem, to a latter day church that some have called “Gentile Israel”? Would the church notice? Would there be any greater recognition that these warnings were from God, and were real, and were near to fulfillment? Would the warnings be properly interpreted?

Some of the seven types of warnings that God gave to Jerusalem were arguably veiled: they were not too clear, and they were easily misinterpreted. The prophet whom God sent was arguably mysterious, and easily persecuted and rejected. After all, it was a time of great peace and prosperity: what could go wrong?

Does not God have an obligation to warn us in the same mysterious way? God is no respecter of persons. Perhaps our warnings will be just as veiled, and our prophets just as easy to reject! I believe it is now so!

HOLY SPIRIT COMMENTS ON ISAIAH 66
I will now make comments on some of the verses of Isaiah 66, as I have heard the Holy Spirit explain them to me in a 21st century A.D. context. This whole chapter prophesies about our time:

1 Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?
2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.
You are going to have to repent: to tremble at God’s word. You are going to have to be washed in the blood of the lamb, and to humble yourself. Your trusting in a church or a pastor will not be good enough. You must have relationship with Jesus.

Religion without repentance will be regarded as worship of and sacrifice to an idol.

4 I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.
This is the time of the deluded church. When you worship an idol, God will speak to you according to that idol (Ezekiel 14:4). Any covetous church, or covetous minister, will be spoken to by God, and deluded by Him, in the manner He so chooses.

5 Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name’s sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.
Get ready to be persecuted by the deluded church, if you have not had this happen to you already. God will vindicate us in His time.

6 A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompence to his enemies.
Once again, the voice of the prophet is crying out from every place: religious and non-religious. The day of the indignation of the Lord is at hand.

17 They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine’s flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.
I see this: as these events of travail and tribulation increase in intensity, there will be a movement, urging people to “sanctify themselves”…..to set themselves apart, by returning to the church, by bringing the whole tithe and offering into the church, which is a false teaching, added by men and nowhere commanded by scripture.

The Lord will regard this “sanctification” as an abomination. You are going to have to seek the Lord, and not a religious form. You are going to have to KNOW HIM.

VOICES IN THE CITY
I see that prophets today have grown tired. They are downcast. Most have thought that these events would have already happened, in a larger, more visible way.

You say: "But He is not talking to me". That is because He is moving. Does not the whole wilderness experience of Israel and Moses suggest that whenever the cloud of God moved, God ceased talking.

These prophets know that it is “woe to him who looks ahead to the day of the Lord”. They know it is sinful to adopt a “bring it on” mentality. The patience and long suffering of God is a very good thing. And yet, some have grown weary, waiting on the expiration of God’s patience. Some have been “milked out” by those whom they have ministered to, and need to return to the source of their sustenance: the Lord who bought them.

Here we are: the third prophetic day is in full swing, and life in America goes on as usual. Admit it: most of the prophets today are as peculiar as Jesus, son of Ananus was in 66 A.D.. We have been crying out our mysterious warnings. Still today, we see things going on, pretty much as before.

I see a parallel here to the dejection of the two disciples on the road to Emmaus.

“But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, today is the third day since these things were done.” (Luke 24:21) They were totally unaware that their waiting was over.

If you have allowed prophetic dejection to creep in, you should consider a few things. God gave Jerusalem 40 years warning in the day of Jeremiah (626 B.C. to 586 B.C.). God gave Jerusalem another 40 years warning in the days of Jesus (30 A.D. to 70 A.D.). How long has God been sending prophets of that stature to America……to a world gone astray? Dumitru Duduman was sent to America in the 1980’s. I have been warning Americans since 1987. Could we have another ten, fifteen or even twenty years? Only God knows the limits of these issues of His long suffering and patience.

We have need of endurance, for the patience and long suffering of our God is beyond human comprehension. Yet, there will be a day of recompense. His day of indignation has commenced.

VOICES IN THE TEMPLE
I previously noted the phrase, uttered by the invisible voice prior to 70 A.D.—“Let us remove hence”, and I find a repetition of it, by the Holy Spirit, for today.

The voice was heard on Pentecost, by those who were on their way into the inner court of the temple: The Holy Place, AT NIGHT. The voice was heard at Pentecost, which is the day, symbolic of the church age, and of the charismatic, tongue speaking, prophecy uttering church.

I hear this from the Lord: it is now NIGHT in the church! It is time to be going, out of the “Holy Place”. It is time to leave the churches of covetousness, greed, manipulation and control. It is time to leave the churches where there is no vision from God.

Yes, “LET US REMOVE HENCE.”

Isaiah 66:6
6 A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompence to his enemies.

Those three voices are now being heard. They were heard in Sumatra, where a tsunami hit during church time ON SUNDAY MORNING, drowning the religious men in their churches…….THEIR HOLY PLACE, while the animals, who could still hear their creator, all escaped to higher ground.

That voice was heard in an Orlando, Florida church where a pastor died in the pulpit while preaching on a Sunday morning.

That voice of recompense to the enemies of the Lord is being heard. The hour of His indignation is at hand. Hide yourselves until it is overpast. Hide yourselves in HIM.

LET US REMOVE HENCE!

Right now, I am hearing another 666 scripture in my spirit: this one is from the New Testament.

John 6:66
"From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?"

I hear the Lord saying: You will either remove hence, or you will depart from me by staying in these abominations that you call churches. Which will you choose? Will ye also go away?

Blessings,
Stephen L. Bening

My Africa Wish List Is As Follows:

Project #1-$100,000-For 100 water wells, beginning at Kittui. This money will purchase drilling equipment and a large truck to carry it in. This week, I will shop for a small "Hi-Rider" truck for carrying men and fuel. Received thus far: $7,000

Project #2-$5,000-Two, 250 person event tents-cost $2,500 each. I have already visited the tent manufacturer in Nairobi. We need this tent for holding bigger crusades in Kenya.

Project #3-$7,500-We need to purchase a sound system for use in the Kenya crusades. I am planning on being in Africa, four times per year. We rented the sound system for the three events we just held. We anticipate holding bigger events, and we will need a more powerful system. With the sound system, we need a generator to power it.

Project #4-$5,000-A truck for David Machimbo Walukhu, my missions coordinator, in Kenya. Right now, David has no vehicle, and travels by bus. I am shopping for one this week, for dual use with the water project.

Project #5-$2,500-Repair for a large, panel Isuzu truck, that is currently sitting idle at Sowetto Academy, Nairobi. We will use this truck for hauling of tent and equipment. Praise God! Chris got this truck fixed.

Project #6-$5,000-Completion of the stone wall that will totally encircle Sowetto Academy. This is really needed to keep people from using walkways right through the middle of the school and orphanage. Right now, the wall is about 25% complete.

Project #7-$20,000-My estimate for the cost that it would take for Chris Ocumu to accomplish a second floor addition to the school building in Sowetto Academy. Praise God! This is almost complete on January 20, 2005. Only the roof is needed for $50,000 KSH ($600)

So, there it is: $60,000 for the equipment. Add in $10,000 for my airfare and costs for four trips per year, and $10,000 for flyers and posters and $20,000 for other event costs for the 2005 outreach events and you have $100,000. Jesus says, "you have not because you ask not". I say, Lord Jesus, I Am Asking!
