The enemy is busy working overtime trying to convince us Christians to fall asleep spiritually....then we are dead, right?!!!

When this happens our hearts become alienated from God, and our love for God grows cold and lies dormant. One of the ways he succeeds is by getting our eyes off of devotion to pleasing God and doing His will and putting our eyes on self instead: on seeking to do our own will.

Luke 21:34-36
If the enemy has any clue that he can get you occupied with other things, cramping your style, why he will go all out to use it against you. Anything or anyone that occupies first place gives the enemy a foothold in your life. A "foothold' is a position usable as a base for further advance.

Our love for God must be the motivating factor that drives us forward. Our love for Him must consume us with everything else taking a secondary place. We cannot serve God with a divided heart. It must not be merely a love affair but a love relationship. Love Him with all your heart, mind, soul, body and spirit. Mark 12:30.

Our church assemblies are occupied by believers who give ninety percent(90%) of their time with all kinds of worldly stuff and energy and give the last ten percent (10%) left over to God. (I surrender 10%) You know God has never told us how much time we should give to Him. However it's only common sense that we spend more than ten percent (10%) on the one we supposedly love so much. Doesn't that make sense?

We are warned that in the last days, lawlessness will increase so that the love of many will grow cold.

2Timothy 3:1-5 says men will be lovers of sinful pleasures and they will be more lovers of pleasure than lovers of God. That day has been around for quite a while. The world like as we know it today is in such a chaotic state and is filled with pleasure seekers.......spirits of selfishness, greed, lust which refuses to be satisfied, covetousness, money changers, money laundering, hate, bitterness, malice and other drives such as this which is just the tip of the iceberg: sent as assaults against us.

People are seeking self fulfillment which does not bring any satisfaction, but leaves one empty and void. They have become their own gods. The love of this world and its enticements have taken them captive and put them in bondage. They have fallen asleep. Don't be deceived by the enemy's lies.

It is highly impossible to be in love with the world and still be in love with God. I am sorry it just won't work. You cannot serve two masters at the same time.

If the enemy's plan succeeds by putting us to sleep spiritually, he will descend on our hearts and emotions like a hawk causing us to become entangled in webs of confusion and conflict. Our hearts may just become insensitive and hardened.

It will be very difficult to hear God and all thirst and hunger for Him becomes deleted. Your spiritual eyes and ears and mind becomes blinded, cluttered and clouded. You no longer are functioning under the anointing of the Holy Spirit; but under the demonic control of Satan.

The enemy knows which button to push and is well trained in the tactics of psychological warfare and mass delusions.....actually he is the master of both. Are you still asleep? Have I got your attention? If not he will have all the access he wants and thereby have all legal rights to further rain down assaults on you. Are you getting this?

He will defeat you! Wake up and repent. Renew your love and commitment to God. RESIST the devil. Stand firm, stand strong, stand fast against the enemy. God has not left you defenseless....you do have a counterattack. Why don't you use it? Colossians 3:2.... Where are you setting your love or on what are you setting your love?

Return to the Lord. Return to your first love. Return to your first love by doing the deeds you did at first, when you were first illuminated.

Another plan of the enemy, which is major by the way, is that Satan uses the cares of this life and the hum drum of it to infect us, so that the Word of God becomes ineffective. You begin to lose spiritual sight: you lose vision; you lose the ability to get revelation; you are no longer mindful of God's promises.

Your mind will be in constant turmoil, disarray and emotional aggravation. You will be overwhelmed by the day to day problems. The problems seem to grow to enormous size. Your faith becomes paralyzed. His plan is to keep you so busy, tied up and exhausted that while attempting to read the bible; you fall asleep.

Our minds become filled with fear and unbelief. You worry about everything. Jesus warns us to keep watch at all times. Look at your life. Are you over-burned and overwhelmed by life problems? Are you seeking God at all? Are you worrying and muttering into your pillow but not praying? Are you being choked by the cares of this life. Are you spiritually alive or spiritually dead?

Shake off those heavy chains. Dust your feet off. Spend each day in prayer and reading of the word. God is yearning for you. He longs for your return. He needs your love because He has a greater capacity to love.....more than you need His love. He is waiting!!!
